Simply Steamed Kale and Asparagus salad

So It's been a while, I know. Lots of family issues, and Easter and floods and finishing my cookbook! Finally it's on sale! It's been quite a few months, it includes 61 healthy (and some treats) recipes. My awesome boyfriend did the cover photo for me. Then I sent it off fro approval. It's an Ebook and it's pretty cool ( I think it is, I'm obviously biased) . Anyway I have a nice healthy salad recipe with steamed veggies.




I used a from scratch Ranch dressing, but I think an asian style dressing would be amazing too.
Remember to try to use Organic when possible.


Simply Steamed Kale and Asparagus Salad 

* 2 Cups Mixed Kale 
* 2 Cups Romaine Lettuce 
* 1 Bunch Asparagus Spears 
* 1 Cup Red Cabbage 
* 4 Green Onions 
*2 Tbsp Vinegar 
* 1/4 tsp Salt 
* 1/2 tsp Lime Juice 
* 1 tsp Lemon Juice 
* 1 tsp Minced Garlic 
* 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder 
* 1/2 tsp Onion Powder

   Directions : 

Mix together the vinegar , salt, lime juice and lemon juice , pour the mixture over the kale, and massage the kale. Steam the kale till slightly wilted. Place the steamed kale into a salad bowl. Next trim the asparagus and cut into bite sized pieces. Steam the asparagus 7 minutes. Once done add to the salad bowl, add in the minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder. Mix the kale and asparagus together. Tear the lettuce and chop the cabbage and onions, add to the mix. Serve with preferred dressing.
