Crazy Baked Cheesesticks

Good Tuesday ( it is Tuesday right?) Morning! Oh wait, it's nearly noon. Oh well. I've been sick, I caught  someone's nasty Upper Respiratory Infection bleh...Then I read something about measles and instantly panicked ( even though I was vaccinated as a baby) since they say it starts out looking like an Upper Respiratory Infection. I calmed down quickly with a cup of tea though. Anyway, to these awesome baked cheesesticks! They're easy, fast, healthy and satisfying, oh and perfect for the Super Bowl!

I'll admit, the cheese does run a bit ( you can just let them cool slightly, then FOLD the melted cheese under!) , but it's still amazing. If your looking for a healthier spin on super bowl food, I suggest these!

Crazy Baked Cheesesticks

* 1 Package Mozzarella Cheesesticks
* 1/2 Cup Italian Breadcrumbs
* 2 Tbsp Unbleached Flour
* 1 Egg
* 1 tsp Water
* 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
* 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
* 1/4 tsp Parsley

Directions:
First, Freeze the cheesesticks. I froze mine over night. Once the cheese is frozen, cut the sticks in half and set aside. Set up a work station with 3 different bowls and prepare a pan with baking spray.
In one bowl lightly beat the egg with the water. In another bowl, add the flour. In the last bowl, add the breadcrumbs and mix in the onion powder, garlic powder, parsley. Now that everything is set, begin rolling the cheesesticks in this order : flour, egg, breadcrumbs. Repeat for each cheesestick, place all on the pan and bake at 375 for 2 1/2 minutes on each side.

 I now get to get caught up on work, like tincture making, and cookbook stuff. Yay me. I hope you enjoy these though, Tuesdays need a little cheese.

Low Calorie Blueberry Iced Green Tea

This week ( I may as well just aim to do blog posts once a week until cookbook things are done.) I've got a yummy healthy tea, with roughly 64 calories per cup or 32 calories for half a cup! I've come up with this simple tea for a morning pre/post workout boost, cause green tea helps you loose weight.

I'm craving summer, can you tell? Don't judge me...spring and summer are just so pretty. The recipe is below.

Low Calorie Blueberry, Iced Green Tea

* 3 bags of Blueberry Green Tea ( I used the Yogi brand)
* 1/4 Cup Sugar
*  3 Cups water
* 1/4 Cup Blueberries

Directions :

Put 3 Cups water in a pot, add in the sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Allow to steep 3-4 minutes. Slice the berries in half, add to a glass pitcher. Pour the tea into the pitcher. Allow to cool before putting in the fridge to chill.

Enjoy!

Detox waters

It's been a while since I've done a post ( I'm sorry! ) I've been very busy and just wasn't sure what to post about. Today I'm super excited to be posting about Detox Waters! I've got a yummy Berry Detox Water recipe!

I'm sure everyone's heard about detox waters.  They're yummy, colorful, and really good for you. They flush toxins out of your body, and some even claim to help with weight loss. I love the color, the freshness, the taste, and of course I feel a lot better after drinking one.

First off is my Detox water recipe! Then on down the page will be links to lots of other detox waters so you can change it up, or find one that tickles your fancy.

Berry Detox Water

*2 Strawberries
*3 Raspberries
*6 Blue Berries
*3 Black Berries
*8oz water

Directions:

Slice all the berries, except blue berries. Add the water to a mason jar or other glass that has a lid. Add the berries to the water, Allow to infuse ( in the fridge) 8 or more hours. Strain out the berries and enjoy the water with some stevia for sweetness. Enjoy the berries with a light sprinkle of stevia as well.

Now It's time to get your fancy tickled with some awesome links to tons of detox waters. Oh and the picture above? It's from the Happy Holistic Living business Instagram. The water and pretty fruit pops are recipes in the cookbook ( coming soon I swear! At least you have the detox water recipe!)

Strawberry Oatmeal

Happy ( late) New Year! It's been a few days since I've done a post, I've been quite busy. How was your Christmas and New Years? Mine was full of foods I probably should have limited myself on, but sadly didn't. So if your like me you'll be thrilled about this Oatmeal. It's healthy and only 307 Calories. It's not bad right? whole grain, fruit, under 400 calories? I think it's great, and really pretty.

Don't you agree?  The recipe is below. Remember to try to use Organic when possible!

Strawberry Oatmeal

* 1 cup water
* 1/2 cup oats
* 1/8 cup honey
* 2-4 strawberries sliced
* 1 Tbsp Vanilla Yogurt
* walnuts (optional)

Directions :

Get the water boiling ( add a dash of salt into the water) , add the oats. Cook on medium till the oat mixture is thick. Once thickened, empty into a bowl. Add the yogurt and honey. Mix in strawberry slices, save a few to top the oatmeal with. Add nuts if desired.

So that's the simple, but yummy oatmeal recipe. Enjoy :)
